CHAMBER NOTES March 08 - PDF Download

Excited for 2008!

Thank you all for attending and participating in the Annual Chamber Dinner this past month. We had a wonderful evening and have already heard many positive comments about the talent show and silent auctions. Your contributions and attendance have helped The Chamber greatly in meeting our budget and in providing continued programs and support to our business community.
We are deeply appreciative of our businesses here in Hillsboro. We as a community are indebted to them for the industry, goods and services that they provide. It was very evident at the Annual Dinner that we have a very healthy business climate. We as a board wanted the evening to be a celebration of the achievements of the past year.
It might not have been stated from the stage, but we did achieve some amazing things in 2007. We had five new businesses open and provided ribbon cuttings for those businesses. We acquired 12 new members on top of the new businesses opening. The Farmer’s Market saw continued success. We hosted several after hours mixers for chamber members to mingle and communicate with each other and with the board members. We hosted Trick or Treat Main Street. Holly Days in Hillsboro had another successful year, and that’s just some of the highlights.
Our business promotions committee continues to work hard to come up with promotions that bring new and exciting ideas to our area merchants.
To put it mildly, we are extremely excited about this year and are ready to go to work as a board to make it the best year yet.
Please feel free to contact any board members if you have ideas or thoughts about business, policies, legislation, or any other issue that might pertain to The Chamber. We are here for you and ready to work with you. Thank you once again for your support!
