Arts & Crafts Fair
September 20, 2008 marks the 39th annual Hillsboro Arts & Crafts Fair.

–The hallmarks of every Hillsboro Arts & Crafts Fair - quality exhibitors, a large crowd, good food and hometown hospitality - were in full force again this Saturday. Even though the day was young when this photo was taken, the Trinity First youth group was busy feeding the masses.
–Jenny Wilson of Mound City replenishes the stock of college-themed yard signs in front of the booth she and Angie Hall operated on East Grand. They reported solid sales in this, their fourth year at the Hillsboro fair.
–Among the nearly 400 exhibitors were hometown girls Letty Enns (right) and her assistant, Helen Penner, who were making some sweet deals on Enns’ homemade jellies.
–Betsy Shope and Kelsey Thomas, both from McPherson, enjoy an icy treat during a curbside break. With temperatures climbing into the mid-90s, cold treats and drinks were a hot commodity during the day.
Local food and hometown hospitality add flavor to this already spectacular event. There’s something for every pallet, everything from Hillsboro’s famous smoked sausage, zwieback and bierocks to kettle corn, roasted almonds, fresh squeezed lemonade and funnel cakes. The food is so good, some people just come to eat.
Hillsboro’s Arts & Crafts Fair is…
“…a fantastic well run show.”“Hillsboro has always been my favorite arts and crafts show by a long shot.”
“People go to other shows, but they wait to buy until Hillsboro.”
“It’s not your run of the mill church bazaar kind of arts and crafts. They have things here I haven’tseen anywhere else.”
